Terms of Service
Version 2026-06-06
Kodiak provides evidence-weighted, citation-backed analysis for claims. It is a research and decision-support tool, not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
Use of the service
You agree not to abuse the service, bypass rate limits, attack the infrastructure, submit illegal content, or use Kodiak to harass, defame, or target people.
Certificates
Certificates summarize evidence and reasoning available at analysis time. They may be incomplete or wrong. You remain responsible for how you interpret and use the output.
Accounts and credits
You are responsible for your account credentials and API keys. Paid credits are used for checks according to the pricing shown in the product or API docs.
Privacy & your data
Kodiak is built so that who you are is not linked to what you check. Certificates are stored in an anonymous, cryptographically-chained, externally-anchored ledger that carries no account identifier — the database does not connect your identity to the claims you submit. The only data we tie to your identity is a search history you explicitly turn on: linking your checks to your account is opt-in and off by default, controlled from your account page, where you can also delete saved history at any time. Billing records reference a private charge event, never your certificate or claim, so payments cannot be joined to what you searched. IP addresses are used only transiently for rate-limiting and abuse prevention and are deleted within 24 hours. We run no advertising trackers, no analytics SDKs, and no behavioral profiling; we never sell or share your data; and we do not train models on your claims. Deleting your account removes your private records — the anonymous public certificates, which carry no identity, remain part of the verifiable ledger. To produce a certificate the claim text is sent to third-party model and search providers, so do not put secrets or sensitive personal information inside a claim. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
Availability
Kodiak is a beta service and may change, pause, or fail. We will try to preserve certificate integrity, but uptime is not guaranteed.
Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
Kodiak is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Certificates are automated analyses that may be incomplete or wrong; you rely on them at your own risk and remain solely responsible for any decisions you make. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dustforge and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on the service, and our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the check(s) giving rise to the claim. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms and may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
